Trucks - Tell Me Like I Am Five

In America, a lot of people love big cars–especially pickup trucks, which have seats in the front for people and a big open box in the back for carrying stuff. They're strong and can haul heavy things, but most people who drive them don't use them for work or fun activities–they just like how cool and powerful they look.

Pickup trucks use a lot of gas, even more than a fancy race car like a Ferrari. So when gas gets expensive, truck drivers have to spend much more money to fill their tanks. This makes some people very frustrated, especially in places where people drive a lot, like the countryside.

Most truck drivers are men, and many of them vote the same way in elections. So when gas prices go up, they might get mad at the president–even though the president can't really do much to control gas prices.

That's why gas prices can be a big deal during elections in America.
